Gremlins affecting www.sophos.com

Apologies to anyone who tried to access this blog via www.sophos.com since yesterday. I know some of you had intermittent problems reaching the site.

The guys in tech support have published an advisory which explains what the problem was.

I'm pleased to say that we didn't suffer a denial-of-service attack or have our DNS poisoned or anything malicious like that. This was old-fashioned human error by an external domain management service provider that meant some people were unable to access our site for a while.

Our IT team is working with our service providers to ensure such an error does not occur again in future.
