Anti-virus products compared in proactive test

Yesterday I told you about the latest comparative test of anti-malware products published by the folks at Virus Bulletin.

As The Register reports, 20 out of the 60 security products tested by the independent testing body failed to receive the VB100 title.

I'm delighted to say that Sophos won the VB100 award with flying colours.

But the test also measured security products' reactive and proactive detection capabilities against the very latest malware.

Take a look at the chart below to see how different anti-virus products performed in Virus Bulletin's RAP (Reactive and Proactive) test:

Virus Bulletin reactive and proactive test results

As you can see, Sophos was among the top anti-virus products in this test. But we're not resting on our laurels - our aim in the coming months is to make our solution even stronger at finding the very latest malware.

Thanks to Virus Bulletin for allowing me to reproduce their chart.
