Sophos has been supporting Comic Relief for six years now.
This year, we held a lunchtime bbq and space hopper race. More than 30 racers, many in fancy dress, bounced their hearts out in a 100m hop.
Despite the dreadful weather, everyone at Sophos HQ in Oxfordshire braved the rain to cheer on their colleagues. A BBC cameraman showed up to record our race for tonight's Comic Relief television fest.
CFO Nick Bray set a challenge to all employees: if we managed to raise £3000, the company would match it. Thanks to the employee and company generosity, we have managed to raise more than £8000 ($13,000 USD). Special mention goes to CEO Steve Munford, who scrambled off a plane after a Sydney-London flight, drove here, hopped his heart out, and then personally pledged handsomely to help us exceed our target of £6000.
Shout out to Ross for winning the race, Claire for riding the most pimped out hopper, and to Sophos's very own village people (Bobby, Mark, James, Matthew, Remy and Diane) for best fancy dress.
You guys are clearly having much too much fun. :)
