This year SophosLabs have presented a couple of papers, both documenting research we did at the begining of the year. Boris and I presented our work on measuring the proportion of malware employing techniques for detecting the presence of a virtual machine managers such as VMWare or Virtual PC in malware and Fraser presented his latest insights into Web 2.0 based threats and the evolution of web threats in general.
There were several good presentations yesterday. I particularly enjoyed the presentation given by Richard Ford, on the subject of self defending ad-hoc mobile networks. The conference continues today with several promising presentations.
