Twitter followers fall foul of fake follows site

As has been reported by Trend, new media luvvies Twitterers should beware! A recently registered domain tweetfollow DOT com, having a very similar name to a popular iPhone App, is serving malware.

When you go to the site you would get a blank screen with the word 'TEST' as it tried to run a malicious JavaScript file (hosted locally) will be detected as Troj/Iframe-BQ. That JavaScript will attempt to contact another website well known in its association with Dorf and Tibs.

This incident just goes to show that users should be careful what they click-on. The message has gotten through to email users but Web 2.0 users should also think before they click.
