There was a lot of security news this week as Michael Argast and I went into our Vancouver studio to record Chet Chat 30. I was on vacation at the beginning of the week, so it is a bit longer than usual.

In this podcast we discuss the PDF vulnerability in RIM’s Blackberry Enterprise Server, new proposed EU cybersecurity legislation, this month’s Patch Tuesday, Oracle’s quarterly security release and the FCC’s new stance on ISPs as bot-busters.

SophosLabs researchers Paul Baccas and Mike Wood both presented at Virus Bulletin in Vancouver two weeks ago. Both of them were kind enough to join me for a podcast to discuss their papers in a more digestible format. The three of us talk about the conclusions they reached and explain the details in a meaningful way for those of us who don’t spend all of our time analyzing malicious files.
