Chester, is there an a Youtube video of your credit card thieving demo?
Not a great version, but this was from BSides Vancouver in 2014 http://youtu.be/4U2-2H9foTI
Thanks Chester, the video was very interesting. As you update the demo, it would great to see an updated version. I would like to show it to the classes I give about staying safe online, but it may be a little too technical for average users. Although I will incorporate some of the points in my classes. Amusing how the bike store owner didn’t want to be perceived as an ogre by his workers but didn’t consider the security of his customers. I tell my classes that you can just as easily get your card stolen at a local shop as at Target. Also, I use cash almost exclusively and have never used an ATM! I advised a local business after they had setup a card swipe payment system and was shocked to find that the card was read in plain text and the data never encrypted; they removed the system.
