Sophos experts really know their stuff – from protecting your business against social engineering, to embracing the Internet of Things without letting crooks into your network.
Next week, five of Sophos’s top security gurus will step up to the microphone to share their expertise with you, free of charge, in our Security SOS Week.
Join them for a series of 30-minute webinars each day, from 14 March to 18 March at 2pm-2.30pm UK time. (14:00-14:30 UTC.)
Naked Security’s very own Paul Ducklin will host each day’s event, and interview our experts to help you cut through the jargon and understand the real issues in computer security today.
Each webinar will consist of about 20 minutes of live interview, followed by 10 minutes of questions and answers.
No sales pitches, no product demos, no Powerpoint slide decks – just informed answers to tricky problems!
So check out the line-up below and register now…

Can you strengthen security by weakening it?

Malvertising: When trusted websites go rogue
John Shier, Sophos IT Security Specialist
Crooks don’t need to hack into a mainstream website to get it to serve up malware. They can get away with hacking just one ad served up by one ad network. This is “Malvertising”, and John Shier explains how it works, why crooks love it, and what we can do to stamp it out.
Thursday 17th March 2pm UTC
Inside a hacker’s toolkit
Fraser Howard, Sophos Labs Principal Researcher
Join Fraser for a fascinating insight into what cybercrime tools the hackers have up their sleeves, how they work together, and what we can do to get the better of them.
Friday 18th March 2pm UTC
What’s next for the Internet of Things?
Chester Wisniewski, Sophos Senior Security Advisor
Chester will tell you how you can dip your toes in the IoT water without plunging straight into trouble – as well as explaining how you can help us make the next generation of “things” secure by design.
Hope to see you there!

Will the webinars be recorded and uploaded to Sound Cloud? Thank you.
Aaaaaargh, the $64,000 question. If I say “Yes,” people won’t join in the webinars. If I say “No,” people will think I’m being miserable. (Only kidding 🙂
Yes, we are planning to record them for later. Of course, webcast recordings are often imperfect, because of how they are created inside the “webinar cloud,” but we’ll do our best.
That’s a roundabout way of saying, “You will be able to listen later, or at least we hope so, but why not join the webinar as well? You know you want to. Even if it is at 7am on the West Coast” 🙂
Well its 1am where I am, so a recording would be awesome!
Ahh, so you’re on the East Coast 🙂
Please record Thursdays one, Its a public holiday where I am and not only will I not be in work you won’t even see me near any technology
We aim to publish a re-cap of each day’s event with a link to the recorded version, like this one for yesterday:
I am guessing that if you are off on 17 March then it has something do do with St. Patrick…enjoy.
Will these be available to download afterwards?
As mentioned above, we hope so.
Sorry the comments hadn’t loaded before I submitted the question!
